This week I had the honour to be invited to the ELMO-LION battery school this summer hosted at Lake Como and Brunette and funded by EIT RawMaterials. This school gave me the opportunity to learn and network from some amazing academics in the battery industry, and I am very grateful and thankful for the time they gave to us. I was also able to collaborate with people all over the world who are working in batteries for their PhDs to have the same passion for batteries and a sustainable future. Especially when I had the pleasure to work closely with Mahmoud Reda, Valentina Diolaiti and Akzhan B. to create and pitch a start up idea we created about bridging the gap between the academia and industry to be a consulting company for high performance batteries in niche applications. This presentation even gave us the opportunity to apply to a startup camp hosted by EIT materials for next year, which I am very much looking forward to applying for. In addition, as I was in Lake Como we also had the amazing opportunity to visit the Temple Volta and learn the history of the origin of my PhD in batteries. I wanted to thank EIT materials and the organisers for the ELMO-LION school for this incredible week and the good friends I have made across the world.

This week I had the pleasure to attend the ELMO-LION summer school in Brunate Italy, funded by EIT RawMaterials, where I had the chance to attend lectures and learn from some of Europe's top Professors in the lithium-ion batteries field like Professors: Corsin Battaglia , Vito Di Noto, Ekaterina Laakso, Bernardo Barbiellini, Rafael Ferragut, S. Assa Aravindh. Additionally, I attended lectures about current industry and startups insights from Riccardo Rocca , Spiros Divanis, Lotta Aalto, and Yi Shi. During the summer school, I also worked on developing a project that ends up bridging both academia and industry by creating a startup that develops expertise in high power density lithium-ion batteries and then offers a consulting service with Esther Gray , Akzhan B., and Valentina Diolaiti and we were mentored by Prof. Xiuyun Zhao. As we were in Como we had the chance to visit the museum of Alessandro Volta and learn more about the origin of batteries. I am very thankful to the organizers of the summer school, the lecturers, and the participants for the great experience, lectures, and conversations.

This summer I had the pleasure and honor of participating in the ELMO-LION Summer school in Brunate. This school gave me the opportunity to learn from battery experts like Ekaterina Laakso , Bernardo Barbiellini , Rafael Ferragut , Vito Di Noto , S. Assa Aravindh, Corsin Battaglia, Yi Shi, Xiuyun Zhao and to collaborate with other guys from all over the world with different scientific backgrounds Emanuela Mangiacapre, Veenavee Kothalawala , Nicole Ceribelli, Meiying ZHENG. In particular, I had the pleasure of working and presenting a project on optimizing a pre-treatment process for end-of-life lithium-ion batteries with Eva Gualtieri, Boren Xu , Alisa Bogdanova and Betzabeth Briceño. Working in a team and finding a compromise between the ideas of each of us was a challenge that it has certainly made us mature both on a human level and as researchers. Special thanks go to the organizers of this doctoral school, which far exceeded my expectations.
